Bob Muglia – Chief Executive Officer


Bob has over 20 years of management and leadership experience.  At Microsoft he led several business groups including Developer Tools, Servers, Office, and Online Services. Most recently, Bob was president of Microsoft’s $16 billion Server and Tools Business, responsible for products such as Windows Server, SQL Server, System Center and Windows Azure. Following Microsoft, he was EVP of Software and Solutions at Juniper Networks.  Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in computer & communication science from the University of Michigan.

Benoit Dageville – Co-Founder and Chief Technical Officer


Benoit is a leading expert in parallel execution and self-tuning database systems.  In over 15 years at Oracle, he was lead architect for parallel execution in Oracle RAC and a key architect in the SQL Manageability group. Prior to Oracle Benoit worked at Bull Information Systems helping define the architecture for Bull’s parallel systems and leading database performance efforts on those systems. Benoit has a PhD in Computer Science with a focus in Parallel Database Systems and holds more than 80 patents.

Thierry Cruanes – Founder Architect


Thierry is a leading expert in query optimization and parallel execution. He spent 13 years at Oracle focused on the optimization and parallelization layers in Oracle databases including as lead for the optimization group. Before Oracle, he spent seven years at the IBM European Center of Applied Mathematics working on data mining technologies. Thierry has a PhD in Computer Science with a focus in Database Systems and holds over 40 patents.

Mike Speiser – Sutter Hill Ventures


Mike joined Sutter Hill Ventures in 2008 from Yahoo!, where he was Vice President of Community products. He joined Yahoo! through the acquisition of Bix, where he served as CEO. Previously, Mike was Vice President and Technical Advisor to Symantec’s Chairman & CEO and served as Vice President of Product Marketing and Product Management at VERITAS Software, which was acquired by Symantec. He also co-founded, worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, and was an analyst with CS First Boston.

John Walecka – Redpoint Ventures


John Walecka is a Partner of Redpoint Ventures and is passionate about companies with disruptive products and innovative business models. John is very active in Redpoint’s investment efforts around companies using big data insights to create new business applications, as well as innovative technologies for building cloud infrastructure and services. He is currently a member of the board at Quantifind, Datameer, and Moogsoft. In addition, John also led investments in software infrastructure companies that included Sybase (SYBS), Documentum (DCTM) and Vitria Technology(VITR).

John McMahon


John McMahon’s career in enterprise software has focused on building and running world-class sales, marketing, and professional services organizations. McMahon served as senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Services at BMC Software, where he was responsible for $1.4B in annual sales revenues. Prior to BMC, McMahon served as the chief operating officer and senior vice president of Worldwide Sales and Services with BladeLogic. At BladeLogic, McMahon played a critical role in transforming the company from startup to public company and ultimately the firm’s $880 million acquisition by BMC Software.

Jeremy Burton


Jeremy Burton is President, Products and Marketing at EMC. A 20-year veteran of the IT industry, Burton joined EMC from Serena Software, where he was President and CEO. Previously, as Group President of Symantec’s Security and Data Management Business Unit, Burton was responsible for the company’s $2 billion Enterprise Security product line. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President of the Data Management Group and also as Chief Marketing Officer at Veritas. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly a decade at Oracle, culminating in the role of Senior Vice President of Product and Services Marketing.
