Bob has over 20 years of management and leadership experience. At Microsoft he led several business groups including Developer Tools, Servers, Office, and Online Services. Most recently, Bob was president of Microsoft’s $16 billion Server and Tools Business, responsible for products such as Windows Server, SQL Server, System Center and Windows Azure. Following Microsoft, he was EVP of Software and Solutions at Juniper Networks. Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in computer & communication science from the University of Michigan.
Benoit is a leading expert in parallel execution and self-tuning database systems. In over 15 years at Oracle, he was lead architect for parallel execution in Oracle RAC and a key architect in the SQL Manageability group. Prior to Oracle Benoit worked at Bull Information Systems helping define the architecture for Bull’s parallel systems and leading database performance efforts on those systems. Benoit has a PhD in Computer Science with a focus in Parallel Database Systems and holds more than 80 patents.
Thierry is a leading expert in query optimization and parallel execution. He spent 13 years at Oracle focused on the optimization and parallelization layers in Oracle databases including as lead for the optimization group. Before Oracle, he spent seven years at the IBM European Center of Applied Mathematics working on data mining technologies. Thierry has a PhD in Computer Science with a focus in Database Systems and holds over 40 patents.
Marcin is the inventor of vectorized query execution in databases. Following completion of his PhD research into optimizing database query execution for modern processors, he co-founded Vectorwise to bring that research to fruition, delivering the fastest single-node analytical database on the market. As Vectorwise CEO, Marcin led the company through its acquisition by Actian in 2010. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam.
Barbara has extensive experience building high-caliber organizations. She began her career at IBM and helped make Siebel Systems one of the world’s fastest-growing companies as Vice President, Legal Affairs. She has also been a member of the executive teams at Get Satisfaction and C3 Energy. Barbara has served in key positions on the boards of many philanthropic organizations and is currently a Trustee on the Executive Committee of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Barbara holds both a J.D. degree and an A.B. in Economics from the University of Michigan.
Denise has 20 years of technology marketing experience at high-growth companies. She began her career at Genesys, a collaboration software company, where she built and led a global marketing organization, from intense expansion to a successful IPO and acquisition. Prior to joining Snowflake, she served as the CMO for Apigee, an API platform company that went public in 2015.
Denise holds a BA in Business Administration and Economics from Stockholm University and an MBA from Georgetown University.
Chris has over 15 years of enterprise technology sales experience. Most recently Chris served as the Vice President of the Western Region at Aveksa, where he helped grow the business 250% year-over-year. Before Aveksa, Chris spent 8 years at EMC and managed a team responsible for 175 select accounts. Prior to EMC Chris worked in enterprise sales at Informatica and Covalent Technologies (acquired by VMware). He holds a BA from the University of Delaware.
Jon has spent over 15 years creating and applying disruptive enterprise technology at both startups and established enterprises. Most recently, Jon has been focused on data analytics in product and marketing roles at Aster Data, Teradata, and Cloud9 Analytics. Prior to that he was a core member of the VMware marketing team and an engineer at Hewlett Packard. Jon holds a BSEE from Stanford University and an MBA from Duke University.
Matthew is an industry leader in enterprise data platforms. For over 20 years, Matthew led the development of business-critical analytics platforms at Goldman Sachs. As a Managing Director, he was responsible for the entire data platform of Goldman’s $1 trillion asset management business. Prior to that, he co-led Goldman’s risk management platform where his team built Goldman’s first company-wide data warehouse that helped it navigate the 2008 financial crisis. Matthew holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Binghamton University.
Sameet has over 20 years of database technology expertise and over 15 years of management and leadership experience. At Microsoft, he was General Manager of the SQL Server Relational Database Engine which is one of the leading relational databases. Following that, he led the data infrastructure team at Facebook which built and operates one of the largest Hadoop deployments on the planet. He was part of the team which incubated several big data technologies including Hive, Presto and Scuba. Sameet holds a bachelor’s degree from IIT Bombay and M. S. in Computer Science from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
