Analyzing this information requires combining data from multiple sources, including external third-party data from nearly 19 vendors. DoubleDown’s challenge required taking continuous data feeds from its games and integrating them with other data into a holistic representation of game activity, usability, and trends.
DoubleDown turned to Snowflake’s data warehouse built for the cloud to host the computing and data flow for all operational and game event data. The new system directly loads semi-structured data without transforming it first, making that data immediately available for queries.

DoubleDown has only scratched the surface with its new implementation. They are developing real-time reporting for game performance so when they launch a new game, they can immediately monitor its performance almost immediately. They also plan to build alerts into games based on data outliers, to identify issues and gain visibility into where and why something is going wrong.
